Hi, I’m Matthew Healey — Licensed Massage Therapist, Yoga Teacher, and Usui Reiki Master.

I love seeing clients leave a session feeling relaxed, restored, and more like themselves. I truly believe I have the greatest job in the world.

Matthew Healey, licensed massage therapist and yoga teacher, at Joy of Yoga where he practices massage and teaches a yoga and massage therapy ball class every Sunday from 12pm to 1pm.

Why I Practice

I became a massage therapist because of how profoundly massage and yoga changed my life.

When I started receiving regular bodywork in 2019—the same year I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training—I noticed a shift: less pain, less tension, and a deeper sense of calm. I felt more at home in my body.

Now, I offer massage therapy to support others in cultivating that same sense of ease and connection in their own bodies.

How I Work

Every session is tailored to meet your body where it is that day. I blend Swedish and deep tissue techniques with energy work and optional cupping to support nervous system regulation, release physical tension, and create a deep sense of rest.

My pressure is responsive and intuitive—clients often describe my deep tissue work as “sneaky”: effective without being aggressive or jarring.

Massage isn’t something I do to the body. It’s something I offer with it.

What to Expect

I offer 60- and 90-minute massage sessions at Joy of Yoga in St. Louis.

  • 60 minutes — $80

  • 90 minutes — $110

You can book during these times:

  • Mondays: 3pm–7pm

  • Tuesdays: 10am–6pm

  • Wednesdays & Fridays: 9am–1pm

  • Sundays: 9am (single appointment slot)

The space is quiet and low-key. You’ll never be rushed in or out. Whether you’re carrying physical strain, emotional stress, or just need time to land, my goal is to create a space where you can settle, release tension, and come home to yourself.

Who It’s For

I work best with people who are looking for consistent, ongoing care—not just a one-time fix.

If you’re interested in building massage into your routine (weekly, biweekly, monthly), and you value quality, affordability, and a no-hype approach, we may be a good fit.

This is not a luxury spa experience. It’s simple, grounded bodywork that meets you where you are.

My Yoga Offering

I teach a yin-style yoga class that incorporates massage therapy balls for deep fascial release and nervous system support.

This class is designed for people who may not feel at home in fast-paced flow classes—and who are looking for something slower, deeper, and more intentional. There’s no pressure to perform or push. Just an opportunity to land in your body, move gently, and rest.

In 2024, I completed 60 hours of Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Nyk Danu, whose teachings emphasize a grounded, trauma-aware, and accessible approach. I bring that same philosophy into every class I teach.

Class Time: Sundays, 12:00–1:00pm
Props: All props (including therapy balls) are available at the studio. Just bring yourself.

You can sign up for class here through Mindbody.
