Relieve Pain & Tension with Therapeutic Massage in St. Louis

Relax, reconnect, and feel more like yourself.

Each session is shaped around what your body needs that day. I offer therapeutic massage in St. Louis, blending Swedish, deep tissue, and energy work to ease tension, calm the nervous system, and create space for rest and reconnection—always working with your preferences around pressure and depth.

We begin with gentle compressions and grounded contact to help you settle. From there, I work slowly and intuitively, adjusting my approach based on your body’s feedback. I aim to listen more than direct—never pushing, never forcing.

Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, feeling overwhelmed, or just need time to reset, my hope is that you leave feeling more grounded, open, and at ease.

Kind Words From Folks I’ve Worked With

A few reflections from people who’ve shared space with me—on the table or the mat.

“Matt’s deep tissue touch is kind of sneaky — in the best way.”

I recently received a therapeutic deep tissue massage with Reiki from Matt, and I was very happy. His technique is gentle, effective, and unlike anything I’ve experienced before.

Usually during deep tissue (or what I call "torture") massages, the pressure hurts in a not-so-good way. But Matt’s approach was completely different — during the session I even questioned if it was really deep tissue! A few hours later, I knew it was: the tension had released, and I felt that satisfying, post-session soreness that told me deep work had been done.

He’s currently seeing clients at Joy of Yoga and offering $20 off your first session. Give him a try — you won’t regret it.

"Matt is far and away the best massage therapist I’ve ever experienced!"

He customizes each session to your specific needs and pressure tolerance. His knowledge of the human body is extraordinary — he tunes in to areas that need attention with incredible precision.

It’s been said his hands should be insured; he’s that good! I highly recommend giving Matt a try for your next (or first) massage. You won’t be sorry.

How I Work

Each session is a blend of techniques based on what your body needs that day. Based in St. Louis, I integrate Swedish massage, deep tissue, energy work, and sometimes cupping—always adjusted to your preferences.

No two bodies are the same, and no two sessions are either.

Swedish Massage (60 or 90 minutes)

Gentle, flowing techniques to relax the body, calm the mind, and improve circulation. A good option if you're feeling stressed, run down, or just want a full-body reset.

Reiki Session (60 minutes)

A non-invasive energy healing practice that supports relaxation, clarity, and emotional release. You’ll remain fully clothed and can simply rest while I work with energetic flow.

Deep Tissue Massage (60 or 90 minutes)

Focused, slower-paced work that addresses chronic tension and deeper muscular layers. Always adjusted to your comfort level—deep without being forceful.

Massage + Reiki (60 or 90 minutes)

A blend of hands-on massage and subtle energy work to support both the body and nervous system. Ideal if you're looking for deep rest, regulation, or full-spectrum support.

All Therapeutic Massage Sessions are held at Joy of Yoga, located at 8918 Manchester Road, St. Louis, MO, 63144.

Massage FAQs

How do I know whether to book 60 or 90 minutes?

If it’s your first time—or you want a full-body session with a bit of focused work on one or two areas—60 minutes is a great place to start.
If you’re looking for deeper work in multiple areas or simply want more time to unwind, 90 minutes gives us the space to go deeper without rushing.

What should I wear to my massage session?

You’ll undress to your comfort level—most clients undress completely or leave on underwear. You’ll always be properly draped during the session, and we’ll talk through any preferences beforehand to make sure you feel safe, supported, and at ease.

I like deep pressure, but I’ve had deep tissue that left me sore for days. What can I expect?

I hear this a lot. Deep tissue doesn’t have to mean painful.
My approach uses bodyweight, sustained pressure, and breath to gently dissolve tension—never forcing your body to let go.
We’ll always stay within your comfort zone and adjust as needed.

What if I’m not sure which type of massage to book?

No worries—all sessions are tailored to what your body needs that day. Whether you choose Swedish, deep tissue, Reiki, or a combination, we’ll check in beforehand and create a session that fits you.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I currently accept cash, check, Venmo, and Zelle.
Payment is due at the time of your session.

Note: I don’t accept credit or debit cards at this time.
If you’re paying via Venmo or Zelle, you’re welcome to send payment at the start or right after your session.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Cancellations made within 48 hours will incur a $25 fee, as that time has been reserved just for you.

Thanks for helping keep scheduling fair and respectful for everyone.
